Description of the OPA's regional planning process

The Renewed Regulatory Framework for Electricity (RRFE) is a coordinated consultation process initiated by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB). The Board envisions that the renewed regulatory framework will lead to a more outcome-based approach to regulation of the sector, supported by clearly defined objectives and responsibilities.

On December 8 and 9, 2011, the OEB held an information session on the five discussion papers released as part of this RRFE initiative. During discussion on the Board’s regional planning paper, it became clear that there was a desire by stakeholders for clarification of the OPA’s current regional planning process. The OPA has provided a description of its current process in response to this request in the document below.
