Management of information related to contracts and Market Operation Working Group

The legislation to merge the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) and the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) requires the IESO to take steps to ensure an effective separation of the functions and activities relating to its market operations and its procurement and contract management activities.

This working group is formed to give a select group of stakeholders an opportunity to discuss potential concerns and offer input into discussions about what characteristics should be considered for an effective separation of the functions of market operations and procurement and contract management activities. These terms of reference are intended to provide guidelines for the working group to provide advice and insight into the development of recommendations for the new organization. The working group is expected to complete its activities in Q4 2014.
